Shoveling snow
It was my turn to keep the sidewalk clear for pedestrians yesterday which was not an easy task since it kept snowing nonstop.
Alltogether I think we had around 15-20cm of snow. Everytime I was done, I could already see the next layer of snow piling up again - a bit frustrating, but hey, that's life. I wonder if they have snow shoveling competitions somewhere...

Nicola, you said "it was my turn to keep the sidewalk clear". What group do you belong to which takes turns shoveling snow? Living in a condo I share common walkways with my neighbors. However, we have never discussed who will shovel the snow if it were to fall. I think I will bring this issue up and reference your example.
Hi Denton!
I live in a house with two appartments and since sweeping the street (or shoveling snow in winter) is a task noone is really excited about we decided to switch on a weekly or sometimes monthly basis. But actually we handle it quite informal (we have no time table or such things).
In appartment buildings with a lot more people they sometimes even keep track with a list, who's turn it is during that week - they call it "Kehrwoche" (sweeping week/sweeping duty).
Maya - Thanks, yes, I did quite some excercise yesterday. I totally envy you with your 6-12°C. Sounds completely like spring to me...
Karine - no worries it'll get cooler soon for you and hopefully warmer for us :-)
