High tide

Last week, the water level of the Rhine river was a bit higher than usually. You can see that the small island in the middle is flooded. This is quite normal for this time of the year, in fact, we expect it to go up again once the snowmelt starts in the alps (probably at the end of March/beginning of April).

You know, Maya, I really don't know. I'm sure there is something though. I'll keep my eyes open!

In summer when it*s a bit warmer, the area you see on the picture is full with wind surfers. They are quite experienced since they have to deal with the current and also avoid the ships on the river.
