Hut in Vineyards

The Rheingau is one of the largest wine regions in Germany, so you can see vineyards all over the place. We used to have a lot of these little huts in between the vineyards, primarily for the winegrowers to store their tools or take a rest.

Nowadays most of these huts are open to everyone, hikers can take a rest there or be save from rain and storm, and in summer some of these huts are even used by wineries to offer refreshments to passers-by.

Thanks you all for your comments, and thanks for the feedback about the image size - I'll make them larger in the future!

dutchie - I sometimes don't know myself :). I freelance from home and try to get away from my desk for my lunch break, so for the last two weeks I've been driving around or taking walks having my camera with me all the time. It has become a nice routine and actually helps me clear my mind for the my work again...

Other people walk their dogs, I walk my camera ;-D...

your camera is very 'lucky' that you've been taking the time to walk it around...:-) I enjoy so much for pictures, Nicola...different and for sure another beautiful landscape from your "neck of the wood"

It's great that those little huts are open for public...trying to preserve the tradition and at the same time to give service to the walkers who take the time to enjoy the area.
