Hotel Schwan in Oestrich
Hotel Schwan ("swan") - a very nice hotel in Oestrich with also a very good restaurant. They're located close to the Rhine river, so each year, when we get the floods in spring, their basement is flooded as well as part of their ground floor (american 1st floor). I guess they're used to it by now and it's also only a few days (plus the drying and cleaning though!)...

Yeah, they may be prepared every year for emptying, cleaning, re-arranging things around...(what a big task, no doubt), but I guess the customers also 'pay' for the share cost of all that :-P Are their rates for the hotel and resto expensive?

It's look as if it were already spring because the snow is dropping from the roof. And it's possible the people there got much work now. But it's a very beautiful house in old style...and also, I think, an expansive hotel and restaurant.

Maya & perle de rosée - I don't think they make customers really pay for the extra effort. They usually close the restaurant during that time and keep the hotel open (since the rooms are upstairs). The rates for the hotel are typical for this region, just the restaurant is a bit more pricy, you're right.
