Sunday lunch at Fendel's

Fendel's is a really nice "Weinhaus" with a very good restaurant in Rüdesheim-Eibingen. In summer they have a great patio outside with a view down to the rest of the city and the Rhine.

We went there on Sunday for lunch but since we went late, it wasn't as crowded any more as during regular lunch time. Lucky us - we were able to choose our table and the food was just amazing (and not pricy at all!).

If you come and visit, also try the "St. Hildegard-Kräutersuppe" - a creamy soup with fresh herbs à la St. Hildegard (the St. Hildegard nunnery is just up the hill). Extremely delicious!

The food does look yummy. Nice photography. You could talk to the manager and get these pictures used in a brochure. They are that good!

Lots of hungry blog visitors now ;-D.

In case you were wondering, here's what we had:
1) rosted duck breast in Calvados sauce on caramelized apples with potato triangles (not in the photo)
2) lamb schnitzel with spinach strudel on a light riesling cream sauce and potatos.

jasp - no, I didn't get strange looks. I don't think they even noticed. My sister was getting a bit embarrased though :D.

ali - thanks for saying that, very kind of you! Next time I go there I'll show them the photos...

Thank you all for your comments! It's always a lot of fun to read them and I appreciate them very much!!
