Book Cart in Hattenheim
This is a private initiative to sell used books for a good cause next to the parking at the Rhine in Hattenheim. You can browse through the books and take the ones you like and donate some money in return. Some people also leave boxes with more books there to support the project.
You're right, Anne, they are very trusting. :) There's someone opening the cart in the morning and then closing and getting the money in the evening. Right next to the parking is a wine tasting stand so I think they're watching it a bit as well (but it's not open the whole time).

No one seems to be manning the cart though...

I like that people recycle books rather than dumping them in the trash - words open our eyes to the world
I think it's a wonderful idea. Pity there isn't something like this here in KL. Alles Güte Nicola.
what a smart idea...collective effort is a great thing :-)
I love this too...so nobody is there to man it? great shot!
Good idea. I've got a few boxes of books I want to get rid of. Perhaps I should make a visit
What a fab idea! I always give my old books to the charity shops. Makes me feel good... :)
Swing by Glasgow, Scotland DP if you get the chance.
Keep up the good work! :)
