Souvenirs

Last photo from our Rüdesheim - Niederwald trip: back at the Drosselgasse you can get yourself a souvenir from Germany. There are sweaters and hats for the upcoming soccer world cup, cuckoo clocks (which are originally from the Black Forest) and all kinds of other stuff that you do or don't need ;).

I agree - looks like a lot of good "junk". Can you tell us more about the gray hats? Are they traditional to wear or for a special occasion?

I got a similar hat in black (and a little more floppy) in the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee when I was a girl. Loved that hat!

wow - this is serious! I just went to the FIFA website and they posted all the venues in germany that will be hosting the games. Any games being played near your place? Parking and traffic will be crazy ay??

its quite impressive how a fever pitch of excitement and euphoria will entice a fan to buy any souvenir they can get their hands on.

adam - that's very true. I always love getting souvenirs as well.

outdoorexposure - yep, it's full of treasuer to be discovered. :)

felicia - hm, I'm actually not quite sure. I'm pretty sure they are from the southern part of Germany. But I'm not sure from what region...

micki - cool! They are made with wool so they should also be nice warm.

nicholas - I think the closest city where we're gonna have games will be Frankfurt. We had big discussion going on in Germany since they couldn't provide as many tickets as people would have liked to. So I guess a lot of fans will watch the games on TV anyways.
