Hiking in the vinyards - Flötenrundweg

A while ago Oestrich-Winkel has marked different hiking trails through the vineyards with these colorful signs. They show a comic of a wine bottle from the area (done by the artist who also did the Karl comics). One kind of wine bottles from this area is called the "Rheingauer Flöte" - I'll show you how it looks like tomorrow - that's why the trail is called "Flötenrundweg".

Wonderful! Looking forward to seeing the vineyards again when the grapes and grape leaves have started to grow. It is wonderful to allow ramblers to hike through the vineyards without disturbing the vines.

The closest vineyards I've visited (just hiking beside them) were in Alsace; there too white wines are bottled in Flutes.

What a marvellous pastoral scene. Great marketing, linking a walkway with the vineyards. I bet the owners are happy with this arrangement. Thanks for taking this shot and posting it. And thanks for visitng my blog and commenting.

Flötenweg is a lovely name. I would like to go on the way playing fluite or tin-whistle. One can see on your photo that the spring is coming because the grass is becoming greener.

I really enjoy looking around your blog. It reminds me of a great year I spent in Salzburg in the early 90s.

Looking forward to seeing that wine bottle. Speaking of wine...

Thank you fotoaddict, lorraine, sandy, ash, mohammadreza!

lagatta - it'll still take a while until the vineyards have leaves but I'll show it to you then. The Alsace is actually a really nice wine region as well. We've been there several times and it seems to have a lot in common with the Rheingau.

fraser - you're welcome. Yes, I think the vintners are quite happy with this!

luggi - Thanks for letting me know!

perle de rosee - yes, it's nie to walk here and discover the signs of spring.

g - thank you for your compliment!

jasp - :-D I hope I'm not overdoing it with my enthusiasm... :)
