Buzzard in the Vineyards

Photo: Courtesy of Christian Weimer - Thanks Christian!

Waking through the Vineyards you can see quite a few of these buzzards hunting. Doing a bit of research I was surprised to read that "the Old World and New World uses of the name buzzard are almost antonyms" (as Wikipedia puts it). Over here the buzzard has a status similar to a hawk or a falcon. How about your area/country?

I see quite a few hawks overhere, but I never have my camera with me... I do admire them though. Great shot, Nicola!

Looked out my window a few days ago and saw a hawk standing on a blackbird before flying away with it. Not as big a s a Buzzard though.

Here buzzards are not as highly thought of as hawks or other birds oe prey.Buzzards eat only dead animals such as "roadkill".
Great capture - nice photo.

Mark
